Your timeline depends on your yard, your city’s requirements, and the size of your overall project. Overall, an in-ground pool project can take anywhere from 3 - 12 months depending on the complexity of the project. ### What affects the cost of a custom outdoor pool? Your budget depends on the size, shape, depth, and the features you choose. Sun shelves, lighting, waterfalls, a built-in spa, or a larger hardscape can shift the final number. We talk through all of this before design begins so you have a clear picture of what fits your goals. ### Do pools add value to a home in Minnesota and Wisconsin? Yes. Custom in-ground pools are viewed as a long-term investment. They offer curb appeal and higher desirability compared to above-ground builds. Buyers often see an in-ground pool as a premium feature, especially when the surrounding space is finished with quality hardscaping. There’s also the emotional value a pool brings to your family. It becomes more than just a space: it becomes the home of future memories. ### What challenges come with building an outdoor pool in this climate? Soil heave, drainage, and temperature swings are the big ones. We design for them from day one by using proper backfill material, correct drainage solutions, and thoughtful hardscaping. Good engineering prevents settling and cracking over time. ### Why do you use pavers instead of concrete slabs? The freeze-thaw cycle is rough on concrete slabs. Pavers allow water to flow through easier. It’s also simpler to replace a few pavers as they become damaged instead of needing to replace an entire concrete section. They age well, look great, and handle moisture much better through winter and spring. ### Can I customize the shape of my pool? Yes. Your pool can be rectangular, curved, free-form, or something entirely your own. Depth, sun shelves, seating ledges, and built-in features can all be tailored to your yard and your style as well. ### Do outdoor pools require a lot of maintenance? Most modern systems are simple to care for. Automatic covers and smart equipment keep day-to-day tasks light. We walk you through everything when the build is complete so you know exactly how to keep your pool running smoothly. ### What if I want more than just the pool? Many homeowners add patios, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, or a pool house to complete the space. These elements help your backyard feel connected and intentional. We can design the entire area so that everything works together. ### What areas do you serve? We design and build luxury outdoor spaces for homeowners across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, including: - Dellwood - Eagan - Lake Elmo - Mendota Heights - North Oaks - Hudson - St. Paul - Minnetonka - Shorewood - Excelsior - Grant - Orono - Loretto - Minnetonka - Wayzata - Shakopee - Hugo - Forest Lake - Mound - Stillwater - Woodbury - And many more View All ![Outdoor Innovations service area graphic](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Website/OIL%20Map%20Graphic.png?width=800&height=634&name=OIL%20Map%20Graphic.png) ### Our Service Areas Dellwood North Oaks Grant Eagan Hudson, WI Orono Lake Elmo Saint Paul Stillwater Mendota Heights Minnetonka Woodbury ### We Are Proud Members of ![NFIB Logo](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Website/nfib-logo.png?width=89&height=45&name=nfib-logo.png) ![Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association logo](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Website/mnla-logo.png?width=197&height=34&name=mnla-logo.png) ![Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute Logo](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Website/ICPI_logo_RGB.png?width=128&height=60&name=ICPI_logo_RGB.png) [![OutdoorInnovations\_OI](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Website/2026-Logos/OutdoorInnovations_OI.png?width=300&height=232&name=OutdoorInnovations_OI.png)](https://outdoorinnovations.com) - [Contact Us](https://outdoorinnovations.com/contact-us) - [Careers](https://outdoorinnovations.com/careers) - Additional Services - [Pavers](https://outdoorinnovations.com/pavers) - [Retaining Walls](https://outdoorinnovations.com/retaining-walls) - [Septic Systems Management](https://outdoorinnovations.com/septic-systems-management) 2026 Outdoor Innovations Landscaping©  | All rights reserved | [Privacy Policy](http://47141334.hs-sites.com/privacy-policy) | Minneapolis Web Design by BizzyWeb [![Houzz](https://outdoorinnovations.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Houzz.png?width=152&height=28&name=Houzz.png)](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/landscape-contractors/outdoor-innovations-landscaping-pfvwus-pf~2081419529?) - - - ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "Service", "areaServed" : { "@type" : "GeoCircle", "geoMidpoint" : { "@type" : "GeoCoordinates", "latitude" : 44.979, "longitude" : -93.265 }, "geoRadius" : 50000 }, "description" : "Custom in‑ground pool design and build services including infinity pools, sun shelves, swim‑up bars, waterfalls, hot tubs & pool houses in the Twin Cities suburbs.", "hasOfferCatalog" : { "@type" : "OfferCatalog", "itemListElement" : [ { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Infinity Pool" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Sun Shelf" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Swim-up Bar" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Waterfall / Spillway" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Hot Tub Integration" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "LED Pool Lighting" } }, { "@type" : "Offer", "itemOffered" : { "@type" : "Service", "serviceType" : "Pool House Construction" } } ], "name" : "Pool Features & Accessories" }, "provider" : { "@type" : "HomeAndConstructionBusiness", "address" : { "@type" : "PostalAddress", "addressCountry" : "US", "addressLocality" : "Hugo", "addressRegion" : "MN", "postalCode" : "55038", "streetAddress" : "5885 165th St N" }, "geo" : { "@type" : "GeoCoordinates", "latitude" : 45.099, "longitude" : -93.041 }, "name" : "Outdoor Innovations Landscaping", "telephone" : "+1-651-983-1976", "url" : "https://outdoorinnovations.com" }, "serviceType" : "Custom In-Ground Swimming Pool Design & Build", "termsOfService" : "Please contact for quote.
